According to a Bloomberg article, former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, who breathed his last on June 12, 2023, left his 33-year-old lover Marta Fascina a staggering €100 million ($109 million or Rs 900 crore).

Marta Fascina, a representative for Forza Italia, started dating Berlusconi in March 2020. Since the 2018 general election, she has actively participated in the lower chamber of the Italian Parliament.

Forza Italia, the political party that Silvio Berlusconi himself created in 1994, counts Marta as a member. The two eldest of Berlusconi’s children, Marina and Pier Silvio, will run his business empire in the meantime.

According to estimates, they will own a 53 percent share in the Fininvest family holding and had already held senior positions in the company. Additionally, he left Marcello Dell’Utri, a former senator with his Forza Italia party who did time in prison for having ties to the mafia, 30 million euros, along with 100 million euros to his brother Paolo.

Italian media mogul and politician Silvio Berlusconi presided over four administrations between 1994 and 1995, 2001 to 2006, and 2008 to 2011. The media magnate and three-time former Italian prime minister was expired on June 12 at the age of 86 after being admitted to the hospital for treatment of chronic leukaemia.

When he passed away on June 12, he was Italy’s third-richest person. Berlusconi had been married twice before he met Fascina. According to The Guardian UK, Berlusconi’s will was revealed on the evening of Wednesday, July 5. The will was dated January 19, 2022, which coincided with one of the times Berlusconi was hospitalised to Milan’s San Raffaele Hospital for treatment.

It was in an open envelope. In a will dubbed “worthy of a soap opera,” Silvio Berlusconi gave €100 million to his fiancée and €30 million to a buddy with criminal links.

The conflict over which of his five children would run his economic empire was also resolved by Italy’s former prime leader, who passed away last month at the age of 86. The businessman gave his eldest two children the most of his £5.8 billion portfolio of publishing, banking, and TV businesses.

The will was drafted by Berlusconi on a yellow notebook with his mansion’s letterhead near Milan’s address on October 2, 2022. The will was penned by him as, “I bequeath the available stock in equal portions to my children Marina and Pier Silvio, he said in the loving letter expressing his affection for them.

My five children Marina, Pier Silvio, Barbara, Eleonora, and Luigi will inherit the remaining property equally. I appreciate you all very much, your father.”

Despite the fact that they never got married because the billionaire’s children discouraged him, the money has been bequeathed to the billionaire’s girlfriend Marta Fascina, who is 33 years old and 53 years younger from him.

Paolo, the younger brother of Berlusconi, also received €100 million. After the controversial politician passed away on June 12 after receiving leukaemia treatment, disputes about who would get what are claimed to have engulfed the wealthy family. These disputes, however, now seem to have been settled.

The bequests for Fascina, Paolo, and mafia-connected business partner Marcello Dell’Utri, according to Berlusconi’s testament, were made in honour of “the love I had for them and the love they had for me.”

According to The Guardian, Berlusconi gave 30 million euros to Marcello Dell’Utri, a former senator from his Forza Italia party who had done time in prison for ties to the mafia, and 100 million euros to his brother Paolo as part of his estimated six billion euro empire.
