In Touch Down exercise is likely to involve fighters, transport aircraft, and helicopters, according to the Defence PRO.

Today, fighter jets and transport aircraft of the Indian Air Force conducted an emergency exercise at the Purvanchal expressway airstrip.

One AN32 (Transport aircraft) landed completely on the airstrip during a touch-and-go exercise conducted by around 10 jets and aircraft, according to District Magistrate Sultanpur Jasjeet Kaur.

A district magistrate said, “This is an emergency exercise performed by the IAF to ensure that emergency jets can easily land and take off from the airstrip.”

The exercise involved Mirage fighter jets, Jaguar jets, and Antonov AN32s.

IAF officials and ground staff participated in today’s emergency exercise, which included Mirage fighter jets, Jaguar jets, and Antonov AN32 aircraft.

Sukhoi was also scheduled to participate in today’s exercise, but it could not make it due to bad weather in Bareilly.

A 5 kilometre section of the Purvanchal expressway near Sultanpur has been under repair since June 11, and all dividers have been removed for safe and secure landings and takeoffs.

Just before the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the IAF performed its first exercise on the Purvanchal expressway on November 16, 2021.
