Droupadi Murmu Take Oath On July 25: Draupadi Murmu will be the 10th consecutive President to be sworn in on 25 July since 1977.

Records show that since 1977 successive presidents have been sworn in on 25 July.

The first President of India, Rajendra Prasad was sworn in on 26 January 1950 – the day India became a republic.

Droupadi Murmu Take Oath On July 25

In 1952, he won the first presidential election. He won the second presidential election and held the position until May 1962.

Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was sworn in as the President on May 13, 1962 and held the position till May 13, 1967.

Two presidents – Zakir Hussain and Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed – could not complete their term as they died.

Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, the sixth President of India, was sworn in on 25 July 1977.

Since then, Presidents including Giani Zail Singh, R Venkataraman, Shankar Dayal Sharma, KR Narayanan, APJ Abdul Kalam, Pratibha Patil, Pranab Mukherjee and Ram Nath Kovind have taken oath on 25 July.
