Former US President Donald Trump slammed rapper Kanye West over a dinner they had at Mar-a-Lago resort. An avalanche of criticism came from some Republican rivals as well as allies following the event, which was meant to be a private affair.

Trump told Rolling Stone on Saturday that he met West, whose name has legally changed to Ye, to “help” him because he has been “decimated in his business and virtually everything else”. In addition, West was described by the former president as “a seriously troubled man, who happens to be black.”
As a result of West’s anti-Semitic remarks, a number of brands have ended their partnership with him.
He further complained that Kanye West requested a meeting “alone”, but showed up with three others. Among them was Nick Fuentes, known for his anti-semitic views, according to Rolling Stone.
Two of those men, including Fuentes, do not know Mr Trump. Ye, however, claimed that Mr Trump was impressed by Fuentes in a video.
During the same video, he reportedly suggested the former President become his running mate in 2024.
Trump was enraged by this and directed his anger at the rapper. NBC News reported that Mr Trump told a confidant he was crazy and couldn’t beat him.
He wrote on Truth Social, “I told him don’t run for office, it’s a total waste of time.”
Trump’s campaign managers have instituted new vetting procedures and gatekeeping efforts as details emerge about how Fuentes and the former president ended up at the same table.
