Donald Trump: Elon Musk, the platform’s new owner, ran a poll in which a narrow majority of voters supported restoring Trump’s account, days after the former US president announced another White House bid.

Trump was banned from the platform early last year for his role in the January 6 attack on the US Capitol by a mob of his supporters seeking to overturn the election results.
Following a 24-hour Twitter poll on Musk’s account, Musk tweeted, “Trump will be reinstated.”.
The Latin adage, “Vox Populi, Vox Dei,” he added, means “The voice of the people is the voice of God.”
More than 15 million Twitter users voted on whether to reinstate the controversial profile, with 51.8 percent supporting it and 48.2 percent opposing it.
During his presidency, Trump used Twitter to announce policies, attack political rivals, and communicate with supporters, having more than 88 million followers when his account was suspended.
Several of his political allies highlighted his return on Saturday.
“Welcome back, @realdonaldtrump!” tweeted House Republican Paul Gosar.
As part of Musk’s poll on Friday, he asked for a simple “yes” or “no” response to the statement “Reinstate former President Trump.”
In a blast of tweets Saturday morning, Musk mused, “Fascinating to watch Twitter Trump poll!”
In the past, he has asked followers if he should sell stock in his electric car company Tesla. In response to that poll, he sold more than $1 billion worth of shares.
Chaos on Twitter –
After being banned from Twitter, Trump launched his own network, Truth Social, instead of returning to the popular platform.
During a video appearance Saturday at a Republican Jewish Coalition event in Las Vegas, Trump said he welcomed Musk’s poll, and he was a fan of the man.
He said, “I like him… he’s a character, and I like characters.”.
There was a poll he posted, and it was overwhelming, but I have something called Truth Social.”
“I don’t see any reason for me to return to the platform,” he said.
As CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, Musk has come under fire for radical changes at Twitter, which he bought less than a month ago for $44 billion.
Since then, he has fired half of Twitter’s 7,500 employees, scrapped a work-from-home policy, and implemented long hours despite facing backlash.
With a controversial subscription service, he failed to revamp user verification, leading to a slew of fake accounts and pranks, and making major advertisers leave the platform.
The site reinstated previously banned accounts, including Kathy Griffin’s, which had been removed after she impersonated Musk. Musk appears to be pressing forward with his plans.
Musk’s demands that employees resign themselves to long, grueling days at the new Twitter resulted in dozens of employees quitting Friday.
