Poonam: The horror of Shraddha Walker’s brutal murder continues to haunt Delhi, with police claiming to have unearthed a similar crime in the eastern part of the city.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested a woman for allegedly killing her husband with the help of her son. Police said the woman suspected her husband of having an extramarital affair. After the murder, the mother-son duo allegedly cut the body into 22 pieces, kept them in a refrigerator, and stashed them in several areas of East Delhi.

This is exactly the way Aftab Poonawalla, 28, allegedly strangled his live-in partner Shraddha Walker, cut her body into 35 pieces and then dumped them in a forest in south Delhi’s Mehrauli.

Police first found body parts in Pandav Nagar in June and registered a case of murder. However, the investigation did not proceed as the body parts were decomposed.

As the sordid details of the Shraddha Walker murder case began to emerge earlier this month, it was also being probed whether the unidentified body parts were hers.

Now, the police have come to know that they belong to Anjan Das. Police said his wife Poonam and their son Deepak allegedly killed Das in June as they suspected him of having an extramarital affair. He was first given sleeping pills and later murdered. The crime took place in Trilokpuri and the body parts were dumped in East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar and surrounding areas.

Shocking footage from neighborhood CCTV cameras shows Deepak walking with a bag in hand late at night – police say it was one of his trips to dump body parts. His mother Poonam is seen following him. Another clip shows them during the day. Police said they made several rounds to gradually pull out the pieces of the body.
