Most Polluted Asian Cities: On Monday, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed eight of the 10 most polluted cities in Asia were from India.
Although Delhi hasn’t won the war against pollution yet, he said it is “encouraging” that it is no longer considered the world’s most polluted city.
The question has been raised – have we won the pollution war and am I satisfied? Not at all. It is encouraging that we are no longer the world’s most polluted city.
It encourages us that we are on the right track. However, our goal is to become the cleanest city in the world.
A few years ago, Delhi was regarded as one of the world’s most polluted cities, but now the situation has improved, he said. Eight of the 10 most polluted cities in Asia are from India and Delhi is not listed. “Some years ago, Delhi was the world’s most polluted city. Not any more!” he tweeted.
There is still a long way to go, he said.
“People of Delhi worked hard. Today, we have made great strides. However, there is still a long way to go. We will continue to work hard so that we can place ourselves among the world’s best cities.” He added, “We are committed to making Delhi the best city in the world.”
