Eleven prime properties worth about Rs 90 crore belonging to banned Islamic group Jamaat-e-Islami have been attached in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The operation is part of an ongoing crackdown on the group, which is accused of promoting fundamentalism, separatism and terrorist activities.
The State Investigation Agency (SIA) has identified around 200 properties of the Jamaat-e-Islami in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier this month, nine properties including two school buildings belonging to the group were notified and seized by the SIA in Shopian district.
The properties have been notified by the District Magistrate under the strict anti-terror law, UAPA.
Officials said action was taken at several places in Anantnag on Saturday when SIA officials, accompanied by a heavy police contingent, raided 11 properties and formally seized them after receiving orders from the district magistrate of Anantnag.
The agency has put up banners prohibiting entry and use at the notified property.
Jamaat-e-Islami is the largest politico-religious organization in Jammu and Kashmir. It had a vast network of schools and other social infrastructure before it was banned in 2019.
The Jamaat is accused of supporting terrorism, and was the ideological mentor of Hizbul Mujahideen – the largest indigenous terrorist group in Kashmir in the 1990s.
Officials say the assets identified by the SIA are worth hundreds of crores, and are located in almost every district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier, the SIA had said that the seizure of these assets would “block the availability of funds for separatist activities and destroy the ecosystem of anti-national elements and terrorist networks hostile to India’s sovereignty”.
