Bharatiya Janata Party today announced new chiefs in many states ahead of the big elections in 2024.

MP and union minister G Kishan Reddy will now lead the party in poll-bound Telangana, replacing Bandi Sanjay Kumar. BJP MLA Etela Rajender, who served as Telangana’s first finance minister, has been appointed chairman of the BJP’s state election management committee. As a politician, he began his career with the K Chandrashekar Rao-led Bharat Rashtra Samithi and stayed with it until 2021, when he joined the BJP.

Andhra Pradesh BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari is the daughter of Telugu Desam Party founder NT Rama Rao.

Former Congress MP Sunil Kumar Jakhar will lead the party in Punjab, claiming to support “nationalism, unity, and brotherhood”.

First Chief Minister of Jharkhand and current Leader of the Opposition in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, Babulal Marandi is the president of BJP Jharkhand.

As a member of the party’s national executive committee, Kiran Kumar Reddy, the last Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh before Telangana was formed, has been appointed.

A meeting of all state presidents, general secretaries, and state incharges has been called by the BJP for July 7. This meeting will be presided over by JP Nadda and BL Santosh, the National General Secretary of the BJP.

BJP sources said tomorrow’s union cabinet meeting will also take place at 10:30 am.
