Locals were able to capture video of the bridge superstructure falling into the river.
According to news agency ANI, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. No casualties have been reported so far. A report has been requested from the Pul Nirman Nigam.
Begusarai district’s Burhi Gandak river was flooded by a bridge that snapped in December last year. Due to the lack of an access road, the bridge was not yet formally opened to the public, so no one was injured. At the time of the accident last year, an official said: “It was supposed to be inaugurated soon, but it collapsed before it did.”
