Ankita Bhandari Murder: The family of 19-year-old female receptionist, Ankita Bhandari, who was allegedly murdered by her employer in Uttarakhand, refused to perform her last rites till the final postmortem report was received, even as preliminary reports said. His death was due to drowning news agency PTI.

On Sunday, her father and brother said that they will not perform her last rites till the final postmortem report is received.
His father Virendra Singh Bhandari was quoted as saying by the news agency, “I am not satisfied with the provisional postmortem report. His last rites will not be performed till we get the final detailed report.”
His brother Ajay Singh Bhandari claimed that the provisional report lacked detail.
She also spoke out against the demolition exercise carried out at the resort where she was working as a receptionist. “It could be an attempt to destroy evidence,” Ajay said.
The woman used to work at Vanantara resort in Pauri district of Yamkeshwar block, owned by Pulkit Arya, son of Haridwar BJP leader Vinod Arya. Pulkit and two other employees have been arrested in the case.

Protestors Block Highway
Demanding further action against the accused in Bhandari’s murder, a huge crowd of protesters blocked the Badrinath-Rishikesh highway in Uttarakhand’s Srinagar district on Sunday. As reported by news agency ANI, they protested in front of the morgue near the base hospital, where Bhandari’s body was taken. Earlier in the morning, shops remained closed in the district to protest against his murder.
The killing of the receptionist has angered the locals in Pauri, who also blocked the bus station and other parts of Uttarakhand and took to the streets demanding action against the accused. Protesters had gathered at the district magistrate’s office in Pauri, while shops were closed in Srinagar.
Draft Postmortem Report
The draft report, released by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Rishikesh, also states that Ankita Bhandari’s body has received antemortem injuries (pre-death injuries), indicating a blunt force trauma. However, he died of drowning, preliminary reports said, the news agency said.
Bhandari’s body was recovered from the Chilla canal in Rishikesh on Saturday, six days after his parents found him missing from his room. His postmortem was done on Saturday by a four-member team of doctors at AIIMS.
The draft said details of the injury and other findings on his body would be given in the final report.
CM Dhami Informs Governor about Action Taken
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met Governor Lt Gen Gurmeet Singh (Retd) at Raj Bhavan and informed him about the action being taken in the Ankita Bhandari murder case.
The Chief Minister assured that the culprits would not be spared under any circumstances. Condoling the heinous crime, the Governor extended condolences to the bereaved family,” Raj Bhavan said in a statement, quoting news agency ANI.
