Karnataka Poll Campaign: Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with booth level workers in Karnataka today to discuss preparations for the 2023 Assembly elections in the state. Basavaraj Bommai was there, as well as state Revenue Minister R Ashok, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra, and BJP National Secretary CT Ravi.

The BJP is making steady inroads into Old Mysuru, a traditional stronghold of the Janata Dal (Secular) and Congress. In 2019, a JD(S) leader switched sides to join the ruling party.
Amit Shah inaugurated the Mega Dairy plant in Maddur Taluk of the Mandya district, part of the Old Mysuru region, on Friday along with former PM and JD(S) chief HD Devegowda.

Amit Shah will also chair a meeting with Chief Minister Bommai and Lingayat strongman BS Yediyurappa about poll strategies. The much-anticipated cabinet expansion to accommodate disgruntled MLAs like KS Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi will also be discussed.
He said if Congress won, it would become “Delhi’s ATM”, and if JD(S) won, it would become a “family ATM”.
Mr Shah also talked about opening the Ayodhya Ram temple in 2024, and developing Kedernath, Badrinath, and Kashi Vishwanath shrines during the BJP’s Sankalpa Yatra.
