Actor Kevin Spacey Found Not Guilty Of 9 Counts In Sex Offences Case

On Wednesday, a UK jury found Oscar-winning actor Kevin Spacey not guilty of nine sex crimes against four men between 2001 and 2013.

After more than 12 hours of deliberation, jurors at Southwark Crown Court in south London reached majority decisions on nine counts, including sexual assault.

After a weeks-long trial during which British rock star Elton John testified for Spacey, the jury began considering their verdicts on Monday.

On Wednesday, the 64-year-old two-time Oscar winner denied seven counts of sexual assault, one count of engaging in sexual activity without consent, and one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity without consent.

His prosecution claimed he was a “sexual bully” who enjoyed making others uncomfortable, including aggressively grabbing men’s crotches.

According to Spacey, the claims are “madness” and a “stab in the back”.

For legal reasons, the court was unable to identify the four alleged victims.

An aspiring actor said he awoke to find Spacey performing a sex act on him, suggesting the actor “drugged” him.

A victim claims Spacey grabbed their crotch “so hard” they nearly fell off the road while driving to a fundraiser.

Last year, a US court dismissed separate sexual allegations in a civil case brought there.

As a result of the jury’s unconvinced verdict, a judge ruled that the accusation was not proven.
