SL vs PAK, 1st Test: Abdullah Shafique hits a century

Abdullah Shafique: Pakistan’s opener Abdullah Shafique has scored a century in the first test match against Sri Lanka on the fourth day.

Pakistan need 342 runs to win the match, at the moment they are in good condition.

Shafique has influenced in a big way, Babar Azam has given him company,

SL started the day on 329/9 before folding for 337.

Shafique has to continue his good work.

A solid effort from Shafiqueue

Shafique got off to a solid start with Imam-ul-Haq in a huge run-chase. Both the players added 87 runs.

Pakistan were reduced to 104/2 before forming a scintillating fifty-plus stand with Abdullah and Babar together.

Shafique is looking solid, taking his time and putting the price on his wicket.

He has hit five fours and one six so far.

How has the Test panned out?

Sri Lanka scored 222/10 in the first innings. Dinesh Chandimal’s 76 was the main attraction.

He had to be disappointed with the Lankai tail for Pakistan.

Shaheen Afridi took four wickets. With the bat, Pakistan (218/10) scored Babar Azam’s century on a difficult pitch.

Prabhat Jayasuriya took five wickets.

SL then managed 337/10. Chandimal was once again exceptional (94*).

In reply, Pakistan lost two wickets.

2nd Test century for Shafiqueue

Shafique has scored his second Test century and his first century against Sri Lanka. Earlier, he had scored a century (136*) against Australia. He has also crossed the 650-run mark in Tests. The special thing is that all his runs have come in Asia.
