Satish Kaushik, who played Calendar in Anil Kapoor’s Mr India, was remembered by several artists.

The Hindi film industry was shocked by Satish Chandra Kaushik’s sudden death today. On social media, several artists paid tribute to the actor who played Calendar in Anil Kapoor’s Mr India.

Anupam Kher, his close friend and actor, said Mr Kaushik died after a heart attack on the way to the hospital. 66 was his age.

He also shared a heartfelt note for his “best friend”.

I know “death is the ultimate truth!” But I never dreamed I’d write this about my best friend #SatishKaushik while alive. Such a sudden end to 45 years of friendship! Om Shanti!

The Prime Minister called Mr Kaushik a “creative genius” and said his work would continue to entertain.

I’m saddened by the untimely death of noted filmmaker Shri Satish Kaushik Ji. His work will continue to entertain audiences. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti.” said PM Modi.

Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, says the actor’s contribution to Indian cinema will never be forgotten.

Satish Kaushik Ji passed away suddenly. I’m deeply saddened. Om Shanti Shanti, my deepest condolences go out to his bereaved family and followers. His contribution to Indian cinema, artistic creations, and performances will always be remembered.

Abhishek Bachchan called the actor’s death “a huge loss.”

We’re shocked to hear about the passing of Satish Kaushik ji, a gentle, kind, loving person. Always happy and smiling. He was a huge loss to our industry. Rest in peace dearest Satish uncle.

Riteish Deshmukh called Kaushik a “silent teacher” and said his legacy lives on.

Your hearty laugh still rings in my ears. Thank you for being a kind and generous co-actor, thank you for being a silent teacher. You will be missed, your legacy will live on,” he tweeted.

He’s a “kind and genuine man” who’s her biggest cheerleader, Kangana Ranaut said.

He was my biggest cheerleader, a very successful actor and director, I loved directing him in Emergency. He will be missed, Om Shanti,” said El actor.

The film fraternity and his millions of fans will miss Satish Kaushik a lot, Madhur Bhandarkar tweeted.

In a statement, he said, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of actor-director Satish Kaushik ji, who was always vibrant, energetic and full of life. He will be missed enormously by the film fraternity and millions of admirers. #OmShanti.”

He studied at the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India. He’s been in movies like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Udta Punjab, Mr India, and Deewana Mastana. Also, he directed Tere Naam and Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai.
