In the last three days, 54 people have died in Uttar Pradesh’s Ballia District Hospital amid soaring temperatures. Despite the fact that the deaths could have been caused by a variety of factors, doctors believe that severe heat could be one of them.

As a result of the severe heat, hospitalizations are on the rise. Most places in the UP are experiencing temperatures north of 40 degrees because of a severe heatwave.
A sudden increase in deaths and patients being admitted to hospitals with fever, breathing problems, and other issues has overwhelmed the hospital, which has put its staff on high alert.
SK Yadav, in-charge Medical Superintendent, District Hospital Ballia, said 23 patients died on June 15, 20 the next day, and 11 yesterday.
According to Dr BP Tiwari, Additional Health Director, Azamgarh Circle, a team from Lucknow will investigate if there are diseases that are not being detected.
It is more risky for respiratory patients, diabetes patients, and people with high blood pressure when the weather is too hot or cold. Dr Tiwari speculated that the mercury rising a little may have contributed to their deaths.
At the district hospital, patients cannot get stretchers, and attendants are carrying their patients to the emergency ward on their shoulders. The Additional Health Director, however, claims it gets difficult when ten patients show up at the same time, but stretchers are available.
