Isudan Gadhvi: Aam Aadmi Party’s National Joint General Secretary Isudan Gadhvi will run for Gujarat Chief Minister. Arvind Kejriwal said he was selected based on opinions submitted to the party by the people.
Former media professional Isudan Gadhvi, 40, received 73 percent of the votes in a party poll. At VTV Gujarati, he hosted a popular news show called Mahamanthan.
His journalism career began with a Doordarshan show called Yojana. From 2007 to 2011, he worked as an on-field journalist at ETV Gujarati in Porbandar. The Gujarat government took action after he exposed a 150 crore scam of illegal deforestation in Dang and Kaparada talukas on his news show.
A farmer from Dwarka district’s Pipaliya village, he belongs to the other backward castes, which make up 48 percent of the state’s population.
As the youngest channel head in Gujarati media, he joined VTV Gujarati in 2015. Especially among farmers in rural Gujarat, his show was popular.
As Arvind Kejriwal inaugurated AAP’s state headquarters in Ahmedabad in June 2021, Isudan Gadhvi joined the party. The Delhi Chief Minister called Mr Gadhvi’s decision to join the AAP a “huge sacrifice of a promising career” in order to clean up the mess created by the ruling party and the Congress in Gujarat.
