At the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru, 44 flights that were due to depart and arrive early on Friday have been canceled, of which 22 were arriving and 22 were departing. According to airport officials, there were operational reasons for it, and passengers were promptly informed. Sources claimed that the Karnataka Bandh was to blame for the cancellations, as many people had done so.

An order directing the Karnataka government to deliver water from the Cauvery river to neighboring Tamil Nadu was opposed by a Karnataka bandh, according to the umbrella organization of pro-Kannada organisations known as “Kannada Okkuta” on Friday. This occurs two days after the Bengaluru bandh, which elicited conflicting reactions.

On Friday, the bandh will go from 6 am until 6 pm. According to prohibitory orders issued by the Bengaluru City Police under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code, no one is permitted to organise protests, rallies, or gatherings of more than five individuals. However, it’s likely that pro-Kannada groups will take to the streets.

The bandh is supported by more than 1,900 groups. While Bengaluru’s grocery stores and other non-essential businesses are anticipated to stay closed, vital services like hospitals, ambulances, and pharmacies will continue to run normally.

Based on the state-wide situation, KSRTC and BMTC buses will operate. An official who was speaking about interstate operations indicated that the buses headed for Tamil Nadu may not be operational tomorrow, but that could change depending on the circumstances. Bengaluru’s major roads are likely to experience a decrease in traffic, particularly in the central business area and at entry and departure points.

Ola and Uber, two cab aggregators, have offered their support for the bandh and are anticipated to attend the event. They intended to travel from Nayandahalli to the town hall. There will be no auto rickshaws on the roadways. The 32 private transport unions represented by the Federation of Karnataka State Private Transport Association made the decision to provide moral support for the bandh in Karnataka.

The Karnataka Hotel Owners Association agreed to cease operations across the state on Thursday. In a statement released on Thursday, the Karnataka Film Exhibitors Association announced that no films will be shown in the state on Friday till 6 o’clock.

Bengaluru’s Namma Metro will run as usual, and security has been increased at the entrances. Due to the Karnataka Bandh, Bengaluru’s Deputy Commissioner Dayananda KA declared a holiday for all schools and colleges in the city.
