Illegal Coal Mine Collapses Near Dhanbad: In Jharkhand’s Bhowra colliery area on Friday, an illegally operated mine collapsed and killed at least three people.

Approximately 21 km from here, the incident took place at 10.30 am at the Bhowra Colliery Area of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

Sindri’s DSP, Abhishek Kumar, says rescuers will be able to identify the victims after they find the dead and trapped.

The mine caved in due to illegal mining conducted by many local villagers.

Eyewitnesses reported that three people were brought out of the debris by locals and taken to a hospital, where they were declared dead.

Binod Oraon, inspector at Bhowra police station, said rescue operations are underway.
