Friendship international day

July 30 is International Friendship Day, which takes place every year. Be well-versed in the day’s history and origins.

A friend helps us believe in ourselves

If your parents are your first guide, your friends are the people who help you find your way on the unfamiliar and less travelled roads of life. When things don’t look good, a friend helps us believe in ourselves and pulls us out of our worst times. So it’s no surprise that many people put their friends at the center of their lives instead of a “dream partner” who may not even exist. There are probably not enough days in the year to celebrate friendship, so people around the world celebrate friendship on different days.

Date of international friendship day:

International Friendship Day is held every year on July 30. It was first proposed in 1958 by World Friendship Crusade, an international civil organization that works to promote a culture of peace through friendship. In 2011, the day was officially named International Day of Friendship by the General Assembly of the United Nations.

Friendship Day is also celebrated in India and a lot of other places on the first Sunday of August. This year it is on August 7, 2022.

International friendship day History:

Even before the World Friendship Crusade was proposed, the first Friendship Day may have been thought of by the Greeting Card National Association. In the 1920s, they tried to sell the idea of a Friendship Day to boost sales of their greeting cards, but people didn’t buy it because they thought it was a gimmick. Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark Cards, Inc., made the first National Friendship Day on August 2, 1930. It was a big deal at the time, but it didn’t last.

Who would have thought that so many people would be interested in this idea so many years later? On July 20, 1958, Dr. Ramon Artemio Bracho came up with the idea of a Global Friendship Day while out to dinner with his friends in Puerto Pinasco, a town in Paraguay. The World Friendship Crusade was started at that meeting.

International friendship day Significance:

The United Nations says that the International Day of Friendship can help people get along better and work toward peace. “There are many problems, crises, and forces of division in our world, such as poverty, violence, and violations of human rights, that make it hard for people to live in peace, security, development, and social harmony with each other. To deal with these crises and problems, their root causes must be dealt with”.

“One way to do this is to promote and defend a shared sense of human solidarity, which can take many forms, the simplest of which is friendship. By building strong bonds of trust and bonds of camaraderie through friendship. We can help make the fundamental changes that are urgently needed to achieve lasting stability.Create a safety net that will protect us all, and get people excited about a better world. Where everyone works together for the greater good “The UN says so.

International friendship day Celebrations in different countries:
